Our Story
Amidst the din of traffic and the sound of footfall in the busy metropolis
of New York, there was a small, charming area that would soon become the
epicenter of fine dining. Under the full moon's light in 2004, four friends
who were all passionate about food—Darren, Lip Xin, JiaCheng, and Eric—shared
a dream.
They sat at a table in Lip Xin's little apartment, drinking wine and laughing
together as they imagined a restaurant where every meal created memories and
sensations danced on the tongue. They vowed to realize their joint dream as
they clinked glasses and shared stories.
After many years, their vision became reality when the restaurant SavorySummit,
which is tucked away in the center of the city, opened. Together, JiaCheng's
attention to detail, Eric's commercial savvy, Darren's culinary prowess, and
Lip Xin's flawless hospitality created a dining experience that is unmatched.
SavorySummit swiftly gained popularity, with reviews praising its cuisine and
whispers about it in culinary arts circles. People from all walks of life came
to sample Darren's exquisite creations, each one a labor of love and passion.
But SavorySummit was more than just a dining establishment—it was an inspiration
and an ember of hope. Giving back to the community that had welcomed them
was something that Darren, Lip Xin, JiaCheng, and Eric all believed in.
Their influence on the city they called home was tremendous as they taught
young chefs, funded neighborhood schools, and organized charitable activities.
SavorySummit's legacy expanded throughout time, having a significant
impact much outside of the city bounds. These days, the focus was on the
people whose lives SavorySummit's magic had impacted, not simply the cuisine.
Speaking over a toast at one of their fabled dinners, Darren once said,
"Here's to us, the dreamers, the believers, the founders of SavorySummit.
May our journey continue to inspire others to reach for the stars." "Simple
